Has Science Unlocked The Secrets Behind Psychic Phenomena

Scientists have for centuries, traveled to the farthest ends of the universe, and went down to the deepest ocean, as well as ventured into the deepest forests, the driest deserts, tundras, valleys and mountains. Scientific research has truly made human life more progressive, and human knowledge too has vastly improved. Science however, has sadly neglected the study of the human mind, as well as the supernatural. Now why is this the case? Let’s try to determine whether science has made significant inroads in the study of psychic phenomena, or whether it simply ignored studying the supernatural.

Science Has Not Fully Studied The Invisible Facets of The Human Mind

A number of scientists and academic scholars do agree that only little research has been devoted to the study of the invisible, and dark aspects and corners of the human mind. Science, when faced with a dilemma of how to quantify or calculate something, usually will not delve into aspects such as the mind, the soul, the subconscious, or worse anything spiritual. Any talk of spirits, ghosts or devils and angels would certainly be rubbed off by the most ardent of scientists, as pure fiction, or outright nonsense.

What’s The Meaning of “Psychic”?

The word psychic, according to standard definition, describes anything that’s connected to the psyche, or mind. The word “psyche” dates back to ancient periods, when people believed in a Goddess named Psyche, who took charge of the invisible realm of human existence. As the years went on however, the word’s meaning changed, and it has now a lot of synonyms such as “subconscious, spirit, subliminal self, inner self and more.

A number of experiments have already been conducted on the human mind, with some studies indicating that the brain not only has the ability to “reflect” on past experiences, but it can also “anticipate” future experiences. The brain’s ability to see into the future is thus referred to as psychic”phenomena”. Not much in-depth research though has been poured into paranormal abilities such as extra sensory perception (ESP), clairvoyance, mediumship, telepathy and more.

And although there have been some studies done on psychic phenomena, supporters of psychic research have countered that the quality of the research often falls below the threshold of true scientific investigation. Now is science putting off, or downgrading psychic phenomena to the level of the absurd, or unnecessary? Some psychics argue that if the established scientific establishment fully accepts that psychic phenomena are “real”, then will these scientists be glad to throw away all established notions and precepts of time, and physics? The famous Albert Einstein once said that the study of God, or the spiritual; world, was like treading into uncharted waters. Einstein however acknowledged the “existence of something we cannot penetrate”. Einstein also mentioned that he has a humble admiration of the “infinitely superior spirit”, in the little that man can comprehend of reality.
